Millies Mark is a business founded by Mr Dan and Mrs Joanne Thompson as a legacy to their daughter Millie. They have been successfully campaigning since 2016 for changes to first aid requirements for childcare providers.
When a childcare provider achieves the mark this means they have acknowledgement that their staff are confident in saving a child's life if they needed to. This also allows reassurance to parents that their children are in safe hands.
Even though Millie’s Mark doesn't work directly with training providers like Swift, they do allow us to use their branded mark to promote the fact that we work alongside them and their mission to ensure appropriate first aid is delivered and nurseries are able to access their gold standard.
At Swift we have always taken pride in the paediatric first aid training we offer our apprentices and it is an aspect of our course that we offer as a free additional qualification. This is why we are really pleased to inform you that our Level 2 programme follows the expectations of Millie’s Mark with ensuring practitioners are first aid trained within the first 3 months. Having this also allows us to solidify the confidence that we are offering nursery settings with apprentices that are trained to the country's standard.
You can now see Millie's Mark featured on the front page of our website as well as on some of our other internal and external content.
