Nursery Practitioner Apprentice - The Orchard Day Nursery

The Orchard Day Nursery is a diverse open planned nursery where children are at the heart of all that they do; and they are committed to ensuring that all of their children have the best possible start in life.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging educational activities that promote children's learning and development.
• Support the daily care routines of children, ensuring their safety, health, and happiness.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive nursery environment.
• Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with senior staff to enhance individual learning plans.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to further develop your skills in childcare and early years education.

Skills

• A genuine interest in working with children and a commitment to their development.
• Strong communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with children and adults alike.
• Ability to manage time effectively while prioritising tasks in a busy nursery setting.
• Previous experience or knowledge of childcare practices is advantageous but not essential.
• Leadership qualities that inspire confidence among peers and contribute positively to team dynamics.
• A willingness to learn about early childhood education principles and practices.
