About Little Learner – Purley
Are you passionate about working with children and looking to build a rewarding career in Early Years?
Little Learner – Purley is a beautifully refurbished nursery located within Beaumont Primary School House. Since opening in 2012, we have created a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can learn, explore and develop through play.
Our nursery provides high-quality care and education for children aged 0 to 5 years and is open year-round from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays and one week over Christmas.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic Childcare Apprentice to join our friendly team and begin their career in Early Years.
The Role
As a Childcare Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced practitioners while completing your Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship.
You will gain valuable hands-on experience and develop the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in childcare.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
- Planning and delivering fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Providing stimulating and challenging experiences that encourage children to learn through play.
- Supporting the development and delivery of high-quality childcare provision.
- Working as part of a supportive nursery team.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Preparing, organising and maintaining learning environments and resources.
- Supporting children with their individual needs and development.
- Following nursery policies and procedures to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
- Taking part in First Aid training and other relevant training as required.

You do not need extensive childcare experience. We are looking for someone who is:

Essential Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2.
- A genuine interest in developing a career within Early Years and childcare.
- Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

- Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship with on-the-job training and mentoring.
- £6.40 per hour for the first 12 months, followed by an increase to National Minimum Wage.
