Swift is proud to offer the Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector, designed to meet the industry’s evolving needs and ensure compliance with nursery ratio requirements. The course spans ten months, combining live online sessions, guided research, and workplace assessments.
The £4,100 cost can be covered by an Advanced Learner Loan, and we’ll assist with securing funding.
Eligibility for Advanced Learner Loans
Staff members must be 19 or older. There is no credit check or income requirements. The loan is available to those who have lived in the UK for the past three years, ensuring wide eligibility.
It’s a flexible solution, allowing staff to apply for up to four loans throughout their career to further develop their skills. This gives your team continuous learning opportunities, improving their value to your nursery.
How to apply for Advanced Learner Loans
To apply for a learner loan, your staff will need to submit an application to the Student Loan Company (SLC) online. The application requires a Learning and Funding Information Letter from Swift, which we’ll provide.
Once submitted, the SLC typically responds within two weeks with the loan approval outcome. This easy process allows staff to begin their qualification journey quickly.

Repayment Process
Easy and Affordable
Repayments for the learner loan begin only once staff earn over £25,000 annually (or £2,083 per month). They will repay 9% of any income above the threshold, which means they only repay when their earnings allow.
If their income drops below the threshold, repayments automatically stop. This ensures that repayments remain manageable, making professional development more accessible.
Example
For an income of £30,000 a year = £2,500 each month, before tax and other deductions.
The repayment calculation in this example would be:
£2,500 – £2,083 (income minus the threshold amount) = £417
9% of £417 = £37.53
In this example, the amount repaid each month would be £37.53.
